"ZOOMED IN" FIX With the latest Stable patch, the FOV value was reset and (possibly?) the FOV range you can set is wider. All you need to do is re-set your FOV in the Video settings. It has nothing to do with your resolution, which is why I gave it its own little section here at the bottom. |

[FIX] "Pixelation" and other resolution problems. There are just so many of these threads around we need yet another thread to merge them into. If you are having problems even after trying through the possible fix(es) listed in this post, feel free to comment.
Make sure to describe your problem in detail. Posting a comment saying "my game looks weird" will not get you any help. Take a screenshot (preferably through Steam) if possible and specify how it's supposed to be. THE FIX - Go to C:\Users\xxx\Documents\DayZ\- Open DayZ.cfg with notepad (or any text editor) - Replace everything with the below (make back-ups): language="English"; This will disable everything or set it as low as possible, and makes the game run in a 1280x720 window. After the game loads, go to Configure > Video > User Interface...and choose your resolution or simply resize the window before adjusting any other settings. If you absolutely don't want to change the rest of your graphical settings, just modify these lines (should work fine, but try the above if it doesn't): Windowed=1;Resolution = Overall resolution the game will run at. winDef = Interface resolution, includes menus and text. Render = Resolution the game will be rendered at before up/downscaling to overall resolution. Note: If your character/game looks "wide," go into Configure > Video > User Interface and make sure your Aspect Ratio is properly set. 1600x900 and 1920x1080 are 16:9 resolutions, for example. |

Having problems with Dayz Standalone? First: Check that you meet the minimum requirements. I know that may sound condescending but that really is the first thing to check. Minimum requirements for Dayz standalone currently are: OS: Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7 SP1 Processor: Intel Dual-Core 2.4 GHz or AMD Dual-Core Athlon 2.5 GHz Memory: 2 GB RAM Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT or AMD Radeon HD 3830 or Intel HD Graphics 4000 with 512 MB VRAM DirectX: Version 9.0c Hard Drive: 10 GB available space Sound Card: DirectX®-compatible Second: Have steam check for missing / corrupted files.
So your computer is good enough, you has Steam check for missing files and your still having issues ? Crash Fix and Fixes to Errors, Freezing, Lagging, CTD, Poor FPS, Black screen, No Sound? Try these steps.
DayZ Standalone Crashes right after pressing the ‘Play’ button? In Windows 7 go the DayZ Standalone installation folder, right-click the DayZ Standalone exe file, go to the ‘Compatibility Mode’ tab and check ‘Disable Desktop Composition.’ Then try running DayZ Standalone once more. Crashing and you have Intel HD Graphics Card? Simply do a clean uninstall and reinstall of your Intel Graphics Driver. For help on how to do this see http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-034574.htm ![]() ![]() When updated / installing drivers be sure to restart your computer after. The game is still in Alpha expect stuff to break Edited by Apoc - 16 Aug 2014 at 6:01pm |
